dandelion's den

devour me wishing skull.
where all my eye lashes go to crack concrete.
my face has trick ribbons & zippers.
a secret pocket where i hide
the extra glass eye. let's play marbles.
let's go out & talk to the lions.
dormant roots. the roar
of the coleseum in my bedroom.
sleep for me is like a bowl of ice cream.
gone & gone & trying to taste
the last bits of cream. cold spoon.
i dream of sleeping next to you. i dream
of our house made of lion bones.
i walk out into the yard
to watch the lions order pizza.
do you remember when the sun
was boiling oil? we dipped out hands inside
& came out with blooming onions.
the fairs are coming to town
& we will be able to live off
neon lights. i love to tame them.
pop off their heads with the flick
of my thumb. lion skull. pizza arriving
without a driver. we ate & are eaten.
small bites taken from legs
& ankles. the lions are hungry & so
are we. a water wheel of feeding.
potato chip moon. porch light
grinning with too many teeth.
i pick you a bouquet of lions
& tell you i cannot stop thinking of you.
my mind is a bingo tumbler
full of eyes. each one i pluck out
is my mania. god please
let the day not end so soon.
